Family history map

The Londonist website requested hand-drawn maps which reflected a personal view of London. They held an exhibition of these at the Museum of London in 2011, and following a visit I was inspired to create a map of my family's movements in the 18th and 19th centuries.

I have been researching my family history since 2001 and have been wanting to create a map like this for some time. I had to distort the scale considerably to show both central London and areas to the north, but it remains topologically correct. The Londonist website has put the map online at their site, and it may be used in a future exhibition.
